The Disappearance of Ivon and Inisha Fowler

In the summer of 2016, four children were removed from the care of Patricia Fowler by child protective services. At fist they though everything was in order, until they realized that there were two children, twins, who were not with the others and were nowhere to be found. Things got even worse when they realized that no one had even seen or heard from the twins named Ivon and Inisha since 2006.

Details of the Disappearance

Twins Ivon and Inisha Fowler were born on October 23rd, 1998. Sadly there is not much else known about their lives aside from that, as there is little more than legal documents and a black an white photo of the twins taken by their grandmother when they were infants. Aside from that, it's as if the two never existed.

One thing we do know is that in 2002, when the twins would have been two years old, him and his older brother Datwon were bathing together. When their mother, Patricia, went to go answer a phone call Datwon accidentally turn on the hot water while trying to get out, scalding his brother. At least that was the story that Patricia told. Ivon suffered severe burns on 46% of his body, and spent a month in the hospital for treatment. Upon his release, both him and his sister were taken out of Patricia's care for about two days, before being released back into her care. Since then no one outside the family has reported seeing the twins. They were never enrolled in any school, no other pictures existed of them, the only thing left documenting their existence were the child support documents Patricia received, even after the twins were no longer in her household.

Their disappearance was officially discovered when Allegheny county's department of children youth and families was sent to remove the children from Patricia's care. They soon realized that Ivon and Inisha, who would have been 17 years old at the time, were nowhere to be found. Their siblings confirmed that the twins had not been seen since roughly September 11th, 2006. Two landlords who rented to Patricia between 2006-2015 are certain that the twins did not live with her during this time. The first thing authorities did was question Patricia.

Patricia was less than cooperative with authorities, as she told a number of stories regarding the whereabouts of her children. From sending them to live with a mysterious aunt in North and South Carolina, to even claiming to have sold the twins to a man in a bar for $2,000 each. However upon being informed that selling her children was a criminal offense, she took back her claim, saying she had never sold her children. Finally she claimed that a family friend by the name of "Sheryl Willis" had taken over caring for the twins when they were 13 years old, and still had them alive and well somewhere in Georgia. Datwon even claimed to be in contact with his brother on social media, and claimed he told them to contact authorities. Police in the area did get a call from someone claiming to be Ivon, calling from Georgia, confirming him and his sister were alive and well. However authorities soon learned the call, as well as a text message sent from "Ivon" was not from one of the missing twins, or even from Georgia, but was from Datwon impersonating his missing brother. He claimed he did it because his mother asked for help.

There have been no new developments in the case, and to this day we are left with nothing but our own theories.

Theories

Early Death

One theory is that perhaps after returning home from the hospital Ivon suffered farther damage to his wounds. Seeing as he never saw a doctor after he was released it's unknown whether his wounds were treated properly, giving him a chance to heal. Then what happened to Inisha?

While Datwon has lied on multiple occasions during the investigation, we can not completely discredit his statement when he said the last time he saw Ivon, he was sick. Then one morning he woke up, and Ivon was gone. Then the same thing happened to Inisha later. Because of this it is very possible that the twins suffered an early death and were disposed of. Then the siblings were simply told not to say anything.

Sold

While nobody wants to think about a mother selling her own child, it has happened before. Parents have sold their children for various reasons before. Patricia at one point did claim she sold her twin children for $2,000 each. While she took that claim back after she was informed that selling you children is in fact a criminal offense (duh..) she did say it at one point. There are plenty of reasons someone might want to buy children, sick as they may be. Whether it be human trafficking or adoption via the black market.

Sheryl Willis

From the research that I did myself, I could not see if Sheryl Willis was ever confirmed to be a real person or not. If she is a real person and she really did take the twins, she knows where they are and for whatever reason has not come forward with the information. If Sheryl Willis is real, who is she? Why did she take the twins all that time ago and why hasn't she attempted to contact the family? How has she not noticed that authorities are looking for the twins? If the twins are alive, why haven't they contacted authorities. They would be old enough to see for themselves that people were looking for them.

Run away/wonder off

With a home full of children accompanied by clear evidence of neglect, what if the reason Patricia is lying so much because she really doesn't know what happened to her children? Maybe the children wandered off at some point, or even ran away consciously, and they met some sort of tragic fate after? This one seems the least likely to me, but it is important to consider all possibilities when you have very few answers.

Details on the Case

The twins grandmother and great aunt have begged anyone who has any information to please come forward. While they each have their own theories as to what happened they both fiercely love the twins, and are still seeking answers to this day.

At the time of their estimated disappearance, Ivon and Inisha would have both been 7 years old. Ivon was an African American male with black hair and brown eyes. He would have been 3'8", and weighed about 52lbs. Inisha was an African American female with black hair and brown eyes. She would have been 3'9" and weighed about 48lbs.

The pictures above are age progressed photos that show what the two might have looked like at 17 years old. If alive today, they would be 19 years old.
